📐 How to Measure Your Fingers (for Unlevel Edge)

Custom performance starts with custom data.

🖐 How to Measure Your Finger Lengths

To build a perfectly customized Unlevel Edge, we need a precise photo of your hand so we can calculate your individual finger lengths and asymmetries.

✅ What You Need

  • A card with no personnal information, a pen or a coin for scale reference
  • A flat table or desk
  • A smartphone or camera
  • Good lighting (natural or direct)

📸 How to Take the Correct Photo

  1. Place your hand on the table with fingers bent at 90°
The second joint of each finger (PIP joint) should be at a right angle, so that the phalanges point straight up, as shown in the photo.
  2. Keep your knuckles aligned
The base of your fingers (MCP joints) should form a straight line, all touching the surface.
  3. Place a reference object above your knuckles
Use a card, pen or a coin right above your fingers for size calibration.
  4. Take the photo from directly above
Hold your phone or camera vertically above your hand. The image must be top-down, without any angle distortion.
  5. Make sure everything is in frame
Your four fingers and the reference object should be fully visible, in focus, and well lit.
Don't include your thumb. Remove any rings, gloves, or tape.

🧠 Why This Photo Is Essential

This image allows us to:

  • Calculate the vertical distance between your fingers
  • Customize the slope of each hold for optimal load distribution
  • Reduce injury risk by improving finger alignment and recruitment

📏 Prefer to Measure at Home?

If you don’t want to upload a photo, you can measure your fingers yourself in just a few minutes.

  1. Make a fist so that your fingers are bent at roughly 90°.
  2. Look at the top of your hand — you’ll see the top knuckles forming a row.
  3. Take three measurements:

    - Index to Middle: From the highest point of the bent index finger to the highest point of the bent middle finger.

    - Ring to Middle: From the highest point of the bent ring finger to the highest point of the bent middle finger.

    - Pinky to Ring: From the highest point of the bent pinky finger to the highest point of the bent ring finger.

  4. Use a ruler or caliper for accuracy (measure in millimeters if possible).
  5. Write down your measurements and send them when placing your order.

This ensures we can customize your Unlevel Edge for optimal comfort, performance, and injury prevention.
